Worcester Park pubs

The Worcester Park, Malden Road, Worcester Park, KT4 7NY
The Worcester Park, Malden Road, Worcester Park
The owners have obviously gone on a long mental journey to come up with this name. Still, it's more original than "The Red Lion" I suppose. This large suburban pub is set back from the main road and lies close to the railway station bearing the same name. It has been refurbished recently and its current look closely resembles a hotel lounge, though this may have been an improvement on the original mid twentieth century decor. The atmosphere is rather professional; the staff are smartly dressed and the bar area is kept clean and tidy. The range of food and drink is better than you might expect for outer London. Ales offered included Young's Special, London Pride and Adnam's Bitter. The wine list is equally impressive and the food offered, though pricey, looked appetising. All in all a pleasant surprise for a pub in metropolitan Surrey.
