Ladbroke Grove pubs
The Earl Percy, 225 Ladbroke Grove, W10 6HQ
A good pub in West London! In fact, one of the best pubs anywhere. Walking west upon Ladbroke Grove, there is a point where the neat white stucco disintegrates, litter suddenly swirls out of dark corners and the atmosphere becomes, well, delapidated. The Earl Percy squats in the middle of this zone. Bereft of all pretention, this is a knacked-out building split into three separate bars that are joined by tiny doors. These doors were perhaps 3 feet high, and they were open, offering a thrilling view of some legs. High-ceilinged, dark, offering no food or other nonsense, bereft of decoration, this was a rare quality boozer in a wasteland of faddish nonsense

The Elgin, 96 Ladbroke Grove, W11 1PY
This is a large ex-Firkin pub that still retains much of its original Victorian charm. It has everything: decent beer, cheap food, pool tables, a mixed clientele and a juke box that plays shite music. Worth a visit if you're in the area.
