Gipsy Hill pubs

Balancing on the verge between awful and slightly nice, Gipsy Hill is below Crystal Palace in both the geographical and metaphysical senses.

Self-styled Maison du Jazz that has gone for the Marquis of Cornwallis/Prince Regent posh baroque approach. Pleasingly relaxed, with a fair range of beers and a decent-looking food menu, it carries off its stated objective, if not quite with aplomb, then at least with due diligence. It at least attracts a mixed crowd, which certainly places it slightly higher up the food chain than some of Gipsy Hill's boozers. Jazz nights on Saturdays.
