Brentford pubs

Crumbling area that’s fallen off the edge of the redevelopment map.

The Waterman’s Arms, 1 Ferry Lane, TW8 0AW
Despite the name, this pub is not actually on the river. The river itself is a little further down the road, blocked off from public access by building works which are slowly agglomerating into a set of highly desirable luxury apartments. Unlike many of the boozers in the area, which are of a somewhat battered nature and offer ‘free meat raffles’ as an incentive to enter, the Waterman’s Arms is very neatly kept, with a decent range of ales and good food on offer. Traditional in appearance, and populated by a friendly local crowd, it’s an excellent pub in an otherwise bleak area.
