NOTE:Just re-opened after a very sensitive refit, retaining a host of traditional features but removing the grime, the Alliance is laid back and friendly. There are a few real ales, and the radio burbles out into the saloon, tuned to one of those stations where you already know all of the songs. The crowd was very local, at least on opening night, and all seemed to know each other, but they seemed to like what they saw, and it was a relaxing place to while away a few hours.
